Who Is the General Superintendent in Your Jurisdiction?
Who is the General Superintendent in your jurisdiction? Do you know the person who has been assigned to serve your part of the Church of the Nazarene? The Church of the Nazarene is a worldwide family. Wherever you are worshipping today, whether in Africa, Asia, Europe, or another part of the world, you are part of a Church that reaches far beyond your own congregation. But here is something interesting. Our worldwide Church is organized into six regions, and General Superintendents are assigned to serve different parts of this global fellowship. Perhaps you already know the name of the General Superintendent serving your jurisdiction. Or perhaps you have heard the name but have never really stopped to think about the person behind it. I thought it would be interesting to hear from Nazarenes around the world. Who is the General Superintendent serving your jurisdiction? Tell us in the comments. You can share the name and, if you wish, the country or jurisdiction where you worship. I would love to hear from our brothers and sisters in different parts of the world. It would be wonderful to see how many places our Nazarene family reaches and learn from one another along the way.

Why Did Dr. Filimão Chambo Connect Biblical Discipleship With Material Possessions?

Dr. Filimão M. Chambo’s doctoral research connects material possessions with Christian discipleship. Examining Luke and Acts, I consider why generosity, honesty, and the use of economic power matter to faith—and why they must never be confused with earning salvation.
Eleven Books, Eleven General Superintendents, and One Question: What Difference Does Christian Leadership Make?
Eleven books by Nazarene general superintendents reveal more than a collection of writings. Read together, they form a historical conversation about Christian living, holiness, pastoral ministry, mission, globalization, women in ministry, and the church’s engagement with culture.
Dr. Jerald D. Johnson’s Book “Mission to the World”: When the Missionary Story Stops Being a One-Way Story
Jerald D. Johnson’s connection to Mission to the World opens a larger question about Nazarene mission: when did the missionary story stop being a one-way movement and become a genuinely global partnership?
Dr. Eugene L. Stowe’s Book “The Ministry of Shepherding”: When the Pastor Has People to Carry, Not Just Programs to Run
Eugene L. Stowe’s The Ministry of Shepherding asks a question that remains uncomfortable for church leaders: are pastors called mainly to run programs, or to care for people? Read alongside ten other Nazarene general superintendents, Stowe’s 1976 book offers a biblical and pastoral challenge to ministry that can become more organized than personal.
Dr. William M. Greathouse’s Book “From the Apostles to Wesley”: The Holiness Question That Wesley Did Not Start
William M. Greathouse’s From the Apostles to Wesley asks whether John Wesley started the Christian perfection question. A closer look at Scripture, Christian history and Wesleyan theology reveals a much older conversation about holiness.
Dr. Donald D. Owens and the Book “Challenge in Korea”: What If the Missionary Was Also the One Being Taught?
Donald D. Owens wrote Challenge in Korea before becoming a general superintendent. Reading his missionary experience alongside his later leadership raises a deeper question: what if the missionary was also the one being taught?
