Who We Are

Nazarene Journal is an independent Christian publication founded in 2021 by Kelvin Mulenga from Lusaka, Zambia.

The publication was created to reflect on Nazarene history, Wesleyan theology, holiness teaching, Christian books, doctrine, mission, and church life. Its purpose is to help readers understand and appreciate the story, faith, and witness of the Church of the Nazarene in a clear, thoughtful, and accessible way.

Our Independence

Nazarene Journal is not an official website of the Church of the Nazarene. It does not speak on behalf of the denomination, any district, region, local church, school, board, or ministry.

It is an independent publication written with respect for the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition and the broader Nazarene family.

Our Work

Our editor, Kelvin Mulenga often moves from church to church within the Church of the Nazarene, observing, learning, listening, and sharing reflections that help give readers a wider picture of the broader church.

This work is shaped by a desire to remember the church’s history, reflect on its doctrine, and encourage thoughtful Christian conversation.

Our Growth and Transparency

Since beginning in 2021, Nazarene Journal has grown into a publication reaching about 800,000 readers across its website and social platforms.

Readers who want to verify this information can visit the Transparency page on Nazarene Journal and also view the official Nazarene Journal Facebook page. The main website is Nazarene Journal, where articles are published on church history, holiness, theology, doctrine, Christian leadership, books, missions, and personal reflections on faith.

Our Editorial Spirit

Nazarene Journal seeks to write with honesty, humility, and care. Names, dates, Scripture references, historical details, and theological ideas are treated seriously. When mistakes are found, corrections may be made so that the content remains useful, accurate, and trustworthy.

This website is written for pastors, students, church members, researchers, and everyday readers who want simple, mature, and thoughtful Christian content. Nazarene Journal exists because Christian memory matters. History matters. Doctrine matters. Holiness matters. The way we tell the story of faith also matters.
